This Privacy Policy explains how HiWeLinked (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our apps, websites, and services (“Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. We may update this policy from time to time and will post the latest version here.
Key Terms
HiWeLinked User: A person who signs up to use our Services.
Information We Collect
- Personal information you provide: name, email, phone (optional), gender (optional), date of birth (optional), education (optional), business information (optional), skills (optional), nickname (optional), photos uploaded, and communications made through the app. You may grant app permissions such as Contacts, Camera, Photos/Media, Location, and Storage to enable features. You can disable permissions in your device settings.
- Location information: when you opt in to location-enabled features (e.g., adding a place to a post), we may process your device’s GPS coordinates and associate them with your device ID as needed to provide the feature. You can withdraw consent by turning off location services on your device.
- Cookies & similar technologies: used to remember preferences and improve the experience. You can manage cookies via your browser settings (note: disabling some cookies may affect functionality).
- Usage, device & log data: device details (e.g., screen resolution, browser/app version), diagnostics (crashes, errors), and activity logs (requests, actions, timestamps) to operate, secure, and improve the Services.
- Messages: messages exchanged through the Services may be processed and stored to deliver the service, enable management features, and investigate policy violations.
- Third-party services: we use services such as Firebase for storage/processing. These providers handle data on our behalf in accordance with their terms.
How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve the Services and features you request.
- Personalize content, recommendations, and user experience.
- Communicate with you about accounts, updates, policies, and security.
- Maintain safety, integrity, and security; detect, prevent, and investigate misuse, spam, or violations of our terms and policies.
- Customer support, analytics, research, and service quality improvements.
Information Sharing & Transfers
- Service providers (processors): we share data with vendors that help us deliver the Services (e.g., hosting, analytics, messaging, payments) under confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
- Legal & safety: we may disclose information to comply with law or protect rights, safety, and the integrity of our Services.
- Business changes: if we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, we will take steps to ensure the confidentiality of your information and notify you where required.
Information You Share with Others
Content you post (e.g., reviews, comments, group posts) is visible to your selected audience (such as followers or group members) and may be reshared by them. Public information (like your username) may be accessible to anyone with an account and may be indexed by third-party services (e.g., search engines or APIs).
Others can also share content about you (e.g., photos, mentions, tags). If you are uncomfortable with content shared about you, you can report it via the in-app “Report” feature.
Retention & Deletion
We retain data as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business, security, and legal purposes. When you delete your account, we delete content you posted (such as photos and status updates) and remove your account data from our active records within approximately 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate interests (e.g., safety, fraud prevention).
You can request account deletion from Account Deletion Help or via app settings (where available).
Security
- We implement technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
- We regularly review our security practices and limit employee/partner access to data.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we will notify users and cooperate with authorities as required by applicable law in the event of certain incidents.
Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child provided us personal information, please contact us at sales@bhumaha.com. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, Services, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy with a new “Last updated” date. If changes materially affect your rights, we will seek consent where required by law.
